Global Women

The Global Women exhibition was a part of the Global Women's project: a one year multi-agency project between the Plymouth Racial Equality Council, The Olive Project and the Cornwall and Devon Refugee Support .

The project started in September 2023, to address the wellbeing and safety of refugee women residing at the Hampton by Hilton hotel, Exeter Airport.  The project had the support of the Devon County Council. 

As part of the Activities program, I led a series of visual art workshops for the women residents and their children. The workshops explored themes related to the emotionality and identity of the women at the hotel going through the asylum seeking process.

The project culminated in an exhibition at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton, Devon, July 2024.
